Have you heard a new song that just blew you away? Share it with the rest of us.
Has anyone else heard Todd Snider's Ballad of the Kingsmen? I have one of his albums and he had some good stuff but he never overly impressed me. This song is just amazing though. I'll have to try and catch him live now.
True that. When I had just heard the tail end of the song on the radio, 2 thoughts hit me. Why is thealternarock stationplaying Rush... and is that a fucking emo song? The song has grown on me though. I swear if I had just heard the vocal track I would say it was Geddy. I can't say this enough, but if you like chicks who rock, get the Auf der Maur album. I saw her this summer with the Cure & Interpol. She became the surprise favourite of that show.
Heh, I heard it first on the crap rock station near my house, and I was positively amazed by the dude's voice. If you read the band bio on their fansite, you'll find the following passage:
He is a man with a voice that makes Robert Plant and Geddy Lee mad for ever trying. Matter of fact, his range is so high it puts a Vienna choir boy to immediate shame.

Another song that's been impressing me is I ate it off the apple tree by Dr John and Randy Newman. Not two artists you usually lump together.

I cant say enough about the Muse album, Absolution. (forgive the flash-only site :( )
it's like if Radiohead did a rock opera. i can't get enough of it. esp. Apocalypse Please, Sing for Absolution and Endlessly. (their radio hit is Time is Running Out). Butterflies & Hurricanes is worth checking out too. and imho, the whole album :D i saw them at the above mentioned concert last month & didn't really feel it. mayhaps i should give them another chance?

it's always changing... the song's called "Edible Flowers." Neil Finn is so vulnerable on the chorus. Love the vocal track they ended up using for the record... Lot of cool tracks on the new CD that will remind you of good old early 90's Crowded House
