I do really love to cook. However, I have a limited repertoire, and I don't do it very often. Does that count?

if i have time to spend on the process of cooking, getting into the preparation, experimenting, enjoying the chemistry of it, I love it. Particularly baking, or making complex soups or stews.
however, if it's just the typical oh-i-have-to-get-dinner-on-the-table-again-tonight, it's usually a chore.

I absolutely love it... as anyone who knows me can tell you. :)
I'm amazed there's nobody here (yet) who's in the business, though!!! *sniff* Just a few short years ago, that one vote would have been me. heh I miss it sometimes... but I'm glad I got out and moved on.
you have to use HEAT?
damn. then some of my favorite recipes/concoctions don't count as "cooking". like innumerable salads, and summer fruity things, and gazpacho, and smoothies, and ceviche not that i've ever made it ... /slinks away sadly
and carpaccio.
i didn't mention sushi because in that general category sometimes the accompaniments to the fish are cooked (edit: With Heat! :D). also, i'm not a fan of plain-raw-fish sushi/sashimi. i like rice and nori and caviar and assorted slivers of other stuff, plus the fish. :)
but carpaccio CAN involve cooking
CARPACCIO from this website. and in sushi, the rice is always cooked. and sometimes the contents. so shove it ;P

LOVE to cook but my philosophy is why cook when you have a boyfriend who loves to cook and is better than you?
I'm more of a baker anyway...btw anyone got any ideas on what to bake for my trainign weekend? I've got limited time and money and no decent cake tins at the mo. I might do scooby doo cakes or something... rice krispie treats are good: rice krispies, marshmallows, butter. Muddy Buddies are teh yummies: butter, chocolate and peanut butter melted together in a pan, then poured over chex cereal and tossed with powered sugar. then there's my favorite: chocolate saltines: brown sugar and butter melted and candied, then poured over saltines. then topped with chocolate morsels that are smoothed out when they have melted.
