Probably Most Common Question... But...Fav Fru Song?

... because i know *I* can't. it depends on my mood i guess. BUT i am going to state that probably my *all time fav* would have to be river valley, i remember wayyy back in the day loving that song so much off of bargainville.
dear god, i cant believe i wil have been a fruhead now for 11 years... i cant get over that, i can still vividly remember the day when my little 13 year old butt glued itself to my borther's cd player (i didnt have one back then!) and listened to bargainville for hours and hours, and falling in love with this new band. i remember driving my grade school peers absoliutely insane by singing them and talking about them all the time, and being labelled "that obsessed moxy fruvous chick". I remember the first concert i went to in '93 and being so upset afterwards, thinking i would never see them again. I remember the first time i met Jian after my second show, running out of the park screaming quietly with my fellow fruhead friend, all giddy and starstruck. Now i'm 24 and while the giddyness and starstruck-ness has waned, its been replaced by longstanding love for a band that i know will always be my favourite, and in 15 years i can tell my kids about crazy mom's weird oldie band that meant a great deal to her :) i didn't mean for this post to turn into me waxing all nostalgic, but there it is :)

that's a question easier asked than answered. like miss cheesemonkey, i can't decide on just one. when the band was touring, i would have immediately said i will hold on (before that was green eggs & ham.. 'cause it's a booty shaker). it has great sentimental meaning for me... still does, actually. edit: i can't believed i picked songs from thornhill as wood is my favourite overall album.

I have to say my favorites would include "Fly", because it helped me through a tough time I had getting over someone... "Gulf War Song", because it makes so much sense on how I feel about war in general... "King of Spain", because it's the first Fr-song I heard... and "The Ballad of Marion Frvous".. because it has part of the song done to my favorite song from Les Miserables.. and it's hilarious. I'm sure I have other favorites I love.. but my Fruvous cds have been buried forever.. and I'm not quite sure where.. so when I find em again, I'll repost.

I'm not sure what my favorite song is but I know I never enjoyed Fruvous as much as the first two times they did Killer Tents at FRFF. That totally blew me away.

'fly' is my favourite song - i don't know whether this is as a result of it being the first fruvous song i ever heard or not. i also reeeally like 'laika', though. and that's a more recent thing.

Fly
Kick In The Ass Independence Day Nuits De Reve Down From Above Michigan Militia Sahara Fell In Love My Poor Generation Its Too Cold I think those are my top 10... not in any particular order except the order in which they occorred to me. And... this list changes. But a lot of these are my most consistent favorites.

I think, right now anyway,The Present Tense Tureen tops my list. I'm sure that will change in about a month though.

past favorites:
Fly (live noise) - i was an emo kid when i first got into the fru Michigan Militia (live noise) - it had the energy of fast heavy music without being fast heavy music, and i just love it. Cedric Fruvous - mellow folk ballads seem to have changed me forever. Fell In Love - emo kid i was, now i find this song a tad annoying, but that will pass once i havent heard it for a while Gulf War Song - first a cappella song i ever took seriously Down From Above - it just really got into me Horseshoes - a classic, the song that got me into the fru in the first place Message (live noise) - after horseshoes, this was the next for me Present Tense Tureen - lyrics reminded me of many things past in my life, and i love the acoustic traditional folk sound. No No Raja - it's a powerful song, it is. current favorites: River Valley - long time fav of mine. reflects my opinions and i love the constant change of the song. Lazlo's Career - i just got ywgttm and this was the only song i hadn't heard previously, that must be why. Lee - it has always put me in another place when i listen to it Extended Sahara - im speachless, ive gotta put it on right now! You must first create an account to post.
