TORONTO Fru-Tourist Advice Needed!!!

   Discussion: TORONTO Fru-Tourist Advice Needed!!!
Queen Lisa of Darlington · 20 years, 7 months ago

Hey there all ...

I am taking Princess Dana to Toronto for a few days in September to celebrate her 14th birthday ... We plan to shop shop shop and eat eat eat and visit all the important meccas (meccae?) Fruvous and DeGrassi.

Which is where I need your help!

What should be our don't-miss spots? They can be Fruvous-related (remember, she is going to be 14 but a cool 14 ... so good music clubs would be fine and great as long as there is no age limit), DeGrassi-related, good restaurants (she has simple tastes, generally burgers, etc. and likes cool funky fun atmosphere), great stores -- preferably vintage or second-hand and music related, be it CDs, records, posters or clothes, What she is NOT is high-maintenance typical teen, so we don't have to do the fashionista-type places ...

We'll be there for three nights (Thursday, Friday and Saturday) and two full days (Friday and Saturday) in September. I know we're going to hit every inch of Queen Street and Kensington Market and the Beaches (and LUSH of course), but want to know what we should be sure to target. Will be dependent on public transportation and our feet. Staying downtown on Queen West ...

Thanks!

Just to let you know - the Original Degrassi store was torn down. :(

De Grassi Grocery is at the corner of Degrassi Street and Cummings. It does not exist anymore as the grocery was torn down and a little townhouse was built at that corner. De Grassi Street is in the neighbourhood of Queen-Broadview Village. This street goes North-South off from Queen Street East to Gerrard

Wow, Agent Scully (which would also make you a Princess Dana, no???) ... thanks for the links! Adding them to favorite places AND printing them out ... that is just awesome. :) Does anyone have a similar site for Fruheads? LOL ...

If not maybe I can scan it and put it up here.
