Chris Thile

Does anyone else here like Chris Thile of Nickel Creek as much as I do? That man is MAD on his mandolin :-O

His stuff with NC is absolutely awesome.. but his solo stuff.. just him and the mando.. wow.. I'm overly impressed..

Um, dude?� Dude.� I ADOOOOOORE Chris Thile.� Adore him.� Do you have "Not All Who Wander Are Lost?"� SUCH A GREAT ALBUM!!!!� It rarely leaves my cd player.� Seriously.� We're in the same boat here.

Edit: Oh, and I use "dude" in the non-sexist, gender-free sense.

ok.. so yeah^^ you are now officially my new best fru-friend^^ ... I've borrowed the album from the library several times.. I'm always just too poor to buy it.. I suck. I know.. I haven't bought a cd in almost 7 months.. thats how bad it is.� Should I happen to come into money though, I'm buying the entire Chris Thile collection... that man is absolutely ....just.. wow.

Seriously.� That album makes me poop my pants.� I scream like�a school-girl when he plays those ultra-fast strum patterns.� I really do.� I'd like to get a hold of his new one with Mike Marshall, "Into the�Cauldron."� If you'd like I can send you a burned copy of the cd until you can buy it.� It would technically be stealing, but I think Chris would understand.

I've heard clips of Into The Cauldron... I nearly had a heart attack....

So I haven't heard of them before, but I checked with the library, and they have Chris' first solo album, and two Nickel Creek ones, so I'll have to check them out and get back to you.

While I have both nickel creek albums, plus a few boots, I haven't heard any solo stuff. I really like Nickel Creek, so I may check out the solo stuff

The one time I saw them live was also my first DVN show - they were on the same WFUV Required Listening Series bill at the late Bottom Line.

You can trace the origins of "The Gates" directly to NC's performance of "The Fox" that evening. The first time I saw DVN perform it, they even apologized to Nickle Creek.

I wondered about that.�� The Fox is one of my favourite Nickel Creek songs, and when I heard the Fox, I was noticed how similar the format was.� I just thought it was a song format, like "talkin' blues" et al.� Thanks for the info!
