Poll: Are you a movie snob... err... geek?

I have my favorites that I can watch a zillion times over without being bored, but most of the time I'm just all about "meh, it's a movie."

Movies either have to really entertain me (e.g. Pirates of the Carribean) or really make me think (e.g. The Matrix) or involve singing animals (see: Disney) to make me like them. ;o)

OH. And I don't do scary movies. They make me want to cry. :o(

the closest to scary I like to get is The Lost Boys... and that's only scary because it still has both Corey Feldman and Corey Haim. XD... other than that, not really.. although the Boondock Saints got kindof violent and bloody... but theres hot men who remove their shirts and speak in irish accents.. so it makes it worth watching... or The Crow.. and that's just.. weird.. not really scary actually.. and it's got Brandon Lee in tight leather.. yummmmm^^

but other than that.. I don't discuss "value" here...

but then again... my fellow Elf and I spent 2 days analyzing the Lord of the Rings movie series.. so.. I lied.

y'know.. its sick,man.. sick.. I can recite nearly that entire movie offhand.. it's disgusting...

and I can do that with just about� any OTHER Corey/Corey movie too... which is even grosser.. I'm awful!

As I spent a good part of this morning analyzing why Casablanca is the greatest film ever made I guess I have to vote yes.

I tend to analyze content in movies and go for the deep stuff even if it's never fully developed in the film itself. I use movies as a jumping off point for my own philosophical explorations. I generally prefer the types of movies that are conducive to this sort of analysis... but on the other hand, sometimes I just like to be entertained.

I was fated to be a film geek. I hate being a fountain o information about most movies for my friends to use to answer whatever questions...grrr.

I have similar issues with the Simpsons and Star Wars. I love going to movies of my choosing, I often have impeccable taste based on trailers as to what I will or won't enjoy.

That, or I'm easy to please.
