Original music by a little Fruhead

Discussion: Original music by a little Fruhead

OK, so she's not THAT little anymore ... some of you longtimeWashington D.C.-area Fruheads may remember my daughter, Princess Dana, who was one of the youngest devoted Fruheads. Anyway, she is now 13 (eek, that means I am officially old) and has been doing some gigging in the area,

Hope I'm not out of line to give her a little plug here ... she will be doing a half-hour of solo material (acoustic/alternative, with a little Fruvousy flavor to it if you crossed it with Aimee Mann) at the upcoming Fete de la Musique at Electric Maid in Takoma Park on Sunday, June 20, at noon. (I keep thinking I should send her stuff to Jian so she could be hisnext Martina Sorbara).

Congrats! Where's the MP3s? :)

I actually have three MP3s, I just need to figure out how/where to upload it (and she's at her middle school graduation dance and is the tech whiz in this house). I know this sounds really stupid, but is the best way to do this simply to find a place to upload the songs and then link them here

Well, I would suggest to her that she upload the songs on her band's website... (which is, what, btw?)

But if she doesn't want the solo one there, then yeah, the best bet is to get webspace to put it on.
Most ISP's provide at least a little (certainly enough for one song)... who do you use to get online?

She just graduated middle school today and now has a lot more time off, so I think one of her projects (other than playing a lot of Playstation2, her grad/honor roll present) is to get up to speed on uploading new songs, recording more of her solo material and get her ow solo website up and running.

I am not sure what she uses to get online ... we're all on AOL, and her message board is on angelfire, I think. Is that the right answer?

Well, this is a long overdue semi-update ... this is not one of her solo songs (her dad just got ProTools this month so a solo CD will be in the works in the upcoming months), but here is a link to the Washington Post MP3 site for her band Lemonface ... it has one of their very rough-draft songs, "Holiday Surprise," which will NOT be on a CD in all likelihood because it is more than a little irreverent (not that there is anything wrong with that, LOL) ...

Anyway, it will at least give you a taste of what their style is ...

For any Fruheads local to the NoVa/DC/MD area, their next gig is at Galaxy Hut on Wilson Blvd. in Arlington on Saturday, Feb. 5, at 9:30 p.m. ... fresh off a Battle of the Bands victory last night in Maryland (hey, when you're 14, you take what you can get when it comes to playing live before a few hundred underage teens -- plus they won eight hours studio time which, when combined with LAST year's win at the same contest gives them 16 hours ... maybe enough for an actual EP or demo!)
