What would you put on a tide-us-over CD?

Hey all! If we could convince the band to put out an album to tide us over until they get off their hiatus kick, what would you put on it? My thoughts would be to make a compilation CD (probably 2CD set), and round up all of their released tracks (for all I can recall, there are the 5 tracks on the indy tape, including the only legit release of Green Eggs und Ham; Today's The Day We Fight Back; and Maple Syrup Time); then add Huge On The Luge and the 10 fruvous.com tracks. After that, what else could/should they put on there (some would say, "Isn't that enough?", while others would reply, "NO!")?
Try not to think about it, Jason Childers... (sorry. BFF popped into my head today) Hmm, . . . great minds, Andrea. BTW, one of my favorite all time moments was when a friend and I were driving in the car, shared a similar thought, and then I said, "Well, you know what they say, . . . 'Great minds . . .'" To which he replied, ". . . what?"
I have *so* had that happen to me. some people.....

OK....maybe it would be more of a box set. Where are the other 31 fan tunes? We could add the live tracks from albums like Falcon Ridge Folk Festival. There are lots of previously-released-just-elsewhere-but-their-albums tracks that would satisfy their die-hard fans. DVDs of their videos (entertainment and educational) would be nice, too.
OK, I'm not trying to take a capitalistic approach (they don't have to keep the money that they'd make from all this), but they could at least invest in us keeping our fingers crossed and hopes up. Or at least approve of such an album/box set being released. What would you suggest? Seriously though, I think it would be awesome if any tracks they have written but not released for whatever reason were included, I'm sure there are more good ones like Follow The Road... Include any songs that were only on the internet, like the Fruhead songs and Huge On The Luge... Everything they've done in live concerts that hasn't been on an album... Green Eggs and Ham... Speaking of Green Eggs and Ham, I think there needs to be a torrent of the indie CD for the people who don't have it. That would probably require some sort of permission though, seeing as the tape was a commercial release and it's not like the live shows which are legal to trade for free. And speaking of torrents that need permission from the artist/label/whateverI want the first two Nields CDs!! And Martina Sorbara's first CD (if it exists anywhere)!! And...and... :D
Massive Plethora of Heroes. :) There were quite a few songs done for CBC and various educational programs..
both of the nields cds can be traded. again, don't know about torrenting them, tho.

This is a CD that I managed to cobble together of officially-released (via CD or fruvous.com) B-sides, and call it "Essential Rarities". Chances are that I'd probably be maimed for distributing copies of it, but I figured I'd at least post the tracklist for reference purposes:
1-6: The indie tape 7. Man in a Hat 8. Shprayz Ikh Mir 9. An Undoing World (7-9: feat. Klezmatics) 10. Today's the Day that We Fight Back 11. Shoehorn with Teeth (feat. DaVinci's Notebook) 12. Jack the Giant Killer 13. I Still Believe in My Friends (12-13: feat. the Nields) 14. But This Time (feat. Dan Bryk) 15-24: The 10 Fruhead songs that were on fruvous.com 25. Maple Syrup Time 26. Huge on the Luge (also from fruvous.com) I think there were maybe one or two other full-group collaborations that I was unable to track down. I left off BNL's "If I Had a Million Dollars" because of space, and because any good Fruhead should buy the "Disc One" greatest hits album anyway. Side note: I've also managed to make similar "essential rarities" collections for the Beatles (group and solo), Monkees, Neil Finn, Jewel, and BNL. So, if there are some out-of-print B-sides that anyone needs for these guys, let me know.

Why, so you can sell them for a nominal fee? These are not mine to sell. I've IMed mp3s of one or two tracks and expected nothing but thanks in return. If I were selling these things, you'd better believe I'm smart enough to not post it on a board where I know my ass will get jumped. If something is out of print, and I can help someone get that one track (for free) that they'd otherwise have to drain their pockets on ebay for, then I'll do it.Unfortunately, this is a touchy and tired point with a lot of people, so it looks like I (and you) will drop it.

whoever holds the rights to fruvous music (their record company?) should put together a compilation for us. somebody should contact them.
if lookout records could do it for operation ivy 10 years after they broke up, then i think there should be one for moxy fruvous. anybody interested in contacting the record company?
The problem being that there is more than one record company involved. The first five cds were released on a couple of different small labels that are distributed by Warner, Thornhill on the other hand was released while they had their deal with True North Records (and probably Rounder in the States but I could be wrong) which is distributed by Universal Music.
If I land a job with True North, I'll see if Bernie wants to buy up the catalogue. *G* You must first create an account to post.
