Oh my....that is quit a shock. I'm so sorry. continue to fight, hon. *hugs* and much love.
Because I did my dad's 401k thing last year and even though I told them to take the taxes out they only took out 10%. And because of various factors in my life I only have $25,000 in my account. I know, I know, most people would react to that with an *aww poor baby she'll only have 5k more than I do*. But my bills are currently beyond my salary so that's pretty serious trouble for me and I'm going to have to make some huge changes (yeah yeah I know again, poor fucking baby) but you know how I reacted last time I came close to broke. Argh. Anyway. I'm sure I'll be fine in the end. But I feel REALLY awful right now and like everything is going to crash down on me.
No, I understand completely. We are having tax hell as well, and it is threatening our plans to buy a house. I totally feel your pain.
Hey did you go to an accountant, or did you do this yourself?

-hugs- but you'll be okay. One way or the other. Don't forget that the IRS has various payment plan options for people who owe large amounts of taxes, so you might want to talk to an accountant about that. I know people that have spread payments out over many years, which with a sum that large is probably something that would not be hard to set up with the IRS.
getting by. Still really stressed. But I know it'll be OK, it'll just be pretty hard for a while. You know?
oh, I know. But you got a lot of people pulling for you here and there are a lot of different ways to handle the problem you're confronting. Lemme know if you want a CPA recommendation - my grandpa's girlfriend is a really excellent CPA and she's in CT so she knows all the CT tax laws and everything.
hugs :) You must first create an account to post.
