I go out of my way to avoid being fashionable. |

I'd say I go out of my way, but that would mean that I care about fashion. Really, I just don't care.
I suppose I tend to wear similar outfits over time, so that could be argued as having my own fashion, but that's not Fashion in the cultural sense. (I'm fairly sure I'm a good bit furrier than Fashion would dictate for one)
yeah, going out of your way to avoid it would kind of make you conscious of it. :)
I feel the same way. I wear what's comfortable and what I think looks ok on me, regardless of whether it's in style or not.
I only care when I can't find things that I like. then it irritates me that the current fashions are things I would never want to wear.

I answered a bit, because I do try to wear stuff that I like that I think looks okay.
but I'm not fashion conscious in the sense that I read magazines and try to have this season's styles.
but I am aware of what I'm wearing, for the most part.
although it equals a lot of t-shirts, sweaters and jeans.
I love internet t-shirts and band shirts, so it migh tbe my own particular fashion-style. but it's there in some way, shape or form.
granola punky hippie is my most comfortable way to look. it's been stylish for ages. and if it ever goes away from the mags and catwalks, i think i'll keep it just the same.

I'm aware of what's in, but I don't own it and can't afford it, and would like everyone to belive that I couldn't care less, but I do... a bit. Though I find a lot of what's in style, lately, to be shit.
This poll brings up an interesting topic that was best address by the funk group Tower of Power. Here are the lyrics, with my errors, to their hit song, What is hip?: "What is hip? Tell me, tell me if you think you know. What is hip? If you're really hip, the passing years will show. You're on a hip-trip. Maybe hipper than hip. But what is hip?" "Hipness is what it is. Hipness is what it is. And sometimes hipness is what it ain't!"

Let me see now. I buy pants, underpants and socks. My favourite colour is dark blue and the pants must have two back pockets. Everything else is hand me downs from the husbands via any of my three sisters, who get pissed off some time later for still wearing what they gave me and make me wear more recent hand me downs. So, yeah, I don't care enough to go out of my way being unfashionable. Come to think of it, none of my girlfriends have been fashion conscious enough to bother with painting their faces either, except for one who used makeup when going to parties.
I wear generally black button down collared shirts and black pants. I don't know what's hip, I've never bought a fashion magazine, I am completely out of the loop with popular culture, and I am happy with it. Although I don't care what is hip and am unaware of the current styles, I pray that what I wear is not stylish.
well, i wouldn't *object* to being on the cover of vogue or gq. & if i were, they'd probably give me clothes anyhow, right?
i can't keep up with fashion but i really enjoy it, in magazines & on my hip urban art-school peers. of course, i *did* just buy a pair of midcalf, satiny, embroidered converse allstars today....
:)
ok...so i haven't been on frff in a while...finals and junk...but seriously last time i was on the poll was almost identical to this one...
discuss.
Styles change. Style doesn't. Me? I'm stylish.
