ACK! Earworm!

:-)

I think to avoid destroying your vehicle as well as the animal, a cow would be the worst to hit. How are you going to get to Mallow with no car? ^_~

Personally, I would save all of them

Ack! You made me a liar!

Ack, I'm sorry. :-)

You could walk.. I mean, it's only like half a kilometer from Rathcarmack, right? This *is* the Irish countryside we're talking about...
nate... Back · 21 years ago
yeah, I'm with zack-was.

while logically the cow would be the worst... I'd try to dodge any of the above.

I still feel really awful for every time I hit, or might have hit, an animal with my car... thankfully, it's not many times... I can name ever single one....

Though as becca can attest.... the time in warren, VT was one of the most emotional... I had to pull over... but didn't have the heart to go back and look....

walk??!?!
On a road in ireland?!

Clearly, you've never seen the way the bus drivers drive.

I've literally seen cars swerve off into fields and ditches to get out of the way of a bus I was on....

The bus drivers there are psycho.

given the large numbers of "What? Are you on drugs?"

um. anyone want to explain, though I think I've mostly figured it out.

Andrea Krause Back · 21 years ago

Sorry....Josh was beggin' for polls! :) I happened to be listening to Peter Mulvey (The Road to Mallow)and the song starts listing off these animals in the road. :)

Blame Josh, he was pressuring us! :)

renita Back · 21 years ago
nonono.

it's a good poll.
I understood it was about which animal one would swerve to avoid (i think)

I just didn't know where the reference came from.

*muah* damn that josh. and his poll pressure. *shakes fist*

I think that Goody is the 2 o'clock creature I would save, personally, but I picked one cat instead.

If you have no clue what we're talking about, then shame on you! Go buy Kitchen Radio!

Just for the curious, so you know I'm not on drugs:

Six rabbits, two dogs, one cat, one cow

And then we saw something, couldve been a fox, come to think of it now

On the road to Mallow on the road

Lisgoold, Ballincurragh, Watergrasshill, Bridebridge

Rathcormac, Ballyhooly, Kilavullen, over the ridge

On the road to Mallow on the road

This road is shining bright after rain, the moon is just past full

We saw an old ghost at the side of the road, he was drunk out of his skull

And high above, vapor trails are passing over gleaming rails

Glowing towers, crashing waves, Euros, dollars, ashes, slaves

Screens and streets and steams of rushing liquid light

Running far and away

The moon is shining bright on the hedges, but Im driving slow

All these creatures, well I wouldnt want to hurt them, no

On the road to Mallow on the road back home

On the road to Mallow, which is any road

> And then we saw something, couldve been a fox, come to think of it now

Whoa, my world is now upside-down. I always thought the last word of this line was "no". Which I personally think would have been more clever. I need to not read official PM lyrics anymore.

Oh, and if you haven't heard this tune, here she be.
Andrea Krause Back · 21 years ago

No doesn't rhyme with cow! :)

nate... Back · 21 years ago
But... it doesn't even sound like "no"....

Josh Woodward Back · 21 years ago
Live version often do sound like "no", at least a Peter-inflected "no" (which, incidently, sounds closer to "now"). :)
Kyla Back · 21 years ago
I always thought it was "no," too.
Nathan Back · 21 years ago
I originally voted for the last option because I didn't understand the question. When I got what it was asking, I changed my vote. Needless to say, I haven't heard the song in question.
Josh Woodward Back · 21 years ago
See, we're not crazy. :)

I posted a poll over at MulveyFan to see if anyone else was screwed up.

Nik Chaikin Back · 21 years ago
Yes, you are. regardless of how many people misheard the lyric, you are in fact crazy....and that's a good thing. :)
