Good News???

I have heard from the people that run the Nassau Community College Folk Festival that Fruvous is going to be touring again. They are going to try and book them !!!!!!! This is unverified but I had to post this.

fruvous? what the hell's a fruvous? don't you know we're here to talk about nail-biting and do people's homework for them?

It is on Long Island about 20 miles from Manhattan and Fruvous played the folk festival regularly. When the stopped playing DVN took their spot.

Oh I hope I hope! I've never gotten to see a Fruvous show, so I really hope I will be able to!

You have to admit it's getting closer and closer to that point, though. Fiona and I are now considering the Mike Ford version of "I've Been Everywhere" a Fruvous song, since all but one Frulad has been spotted singing it, and this on many occasions.

They seem to be revolving in tighter and tighter circles, that's all I mean. I wouldn't give up hope.

Oh neither would I. That Mike is starting to play shows and recording an album, I take as a good sign. Murray's GBS duties may be the biggest sticking point ultimately. But I don't think we're going to hear anything SOON. I don't believe this particular rumor. The timing is all wrong, unless they are getting so bored that they've decided to do a few one-off shows.

I don't know that that would be true - he's not a member of the band. he's just a touring bassist. if he wanted to return to touring with Moxy Fruvous, GBS could find someone else. (or ditch the drummer and tour as a three piece acoustic band :)

Yup, and from what I've heard from Rosemary recently, his general attitude towards the GBS gig is "It's good money". I don't think he's very committed to them. I think the big obstacle right now is >play.

If it were during the summer I'd SO hop on a bus to wherever they were playing.� That sort of makes sense that they might do something during the summer.

I doubt it's true. Jian could *never* keep a complete lid on news like a Fruvous reunion when he's on tv every week. There would at least be hints slipping though.

I don't know... on one hand Jian would have a lot of political cannon fodder with Iraq, elections, etc... but, I don't know... I'd like to see it happen... but I doubt it can be true.

I hope if it *is* true that they'll play in Toronto too. Makes sense...they live here. I've never seen a live show so it would definitely rock.

WHOA!!! The fact that they might get back on tour is enough to make me happy. One question, how do you guys know all this stuff? Where do you go to find it out?

I asked Jian (face to face) last Thursday if he was going to be at Frucon 7. He gave me a blank look and didn't say anything. Then I asked if he wanted info about it, and he said, "Yeah." So I gave him the Frucon web site printed in 2 pages with all the details. Jian is the easy to see, if you are in Toronto. But >Play also went on hiatus 12/15/03-1/15/04.

So, is there any updated info on this?
