Interview nightmares?

   Discussion: Interview nightmares?
Wintress · 21 years, 7 months ago

I had a second interview this afternoon. I'm working through a recruiter in the Windy City who set me up last week. The person I interviewed with was allegedly so impressed with me that she wanted to set up another appointment ASAP. I thought that I was going to meet with the same person today and possibly the person I'd be working with.

Wha' happened??

I met the first interviewer - who promptly told me I'd be meeting a different person. Fine. Not a problem...except that he was SALES (I'm licensed sales SUPPORT), didn't have/want my resume ("I can get it from R if I want it"), didn't have my application ("I don't know anything about you, so I thought I'd see what questions you have"), didn't have any answers ("R didn't tell me anything about you, so I don't know who you might be interviewing for/working for/etc."), didn't have much to say except that he was there to answer questions I might have. :(

On my way out, the first interviewer said that if she didn't speak to me again, she wished me happy holidays.

I can't believe I spent $$ on an outfit, spent $$ on a hotel, took a NON-PAID day off from my (paying!!!) job, and drove over 10 hours round trip for an interview with some individual who didn't know me, the position or have any inclination to find anything out.

What's your story?

I interviewed for a telephone survey job. The interview went wonderfully and I got the job.

*shudder*
