i like :)

really? whats your favorite bit?

there are two things that i like about this one, (1) the repetition of the "he was dead in the morning" makes me think of a funeral dirge, of funeral bells ringing, etc. it kind of meanders through the first bit, i don't understand all the references but they all work within the motif. (2) the closing stanza is brilliant, the rhyme pattern and the rhythm is just beautiful spoken.

of course, i'm breaking the poem up into four line stanzas but i'm sure that's how you meant it.

i like it on a purely visual level, i like it on a purely artistic level, it's the sort of angsty stuff that blogs are made of, no? :)

1. yeah in my head it was kind of drunken irish-like in its presentation. reminded me of Ai (my bro's) wake music, very off the cuff. very raw.
