what's your favourite movie moment ever? just 'cause i felt like asking. and yes, i suppose you can have more than one. ;) i have a few, but my favouritest evereverever is the bit in jurassic park where the t-rex knocks down the fence in the thunderstorm. it scares the crap out of me every time. heee. (i'm such a dork.) :D

When The Haunting was in theaters way back when... I went with my cousin and mother. She was terrified of EVERYTHING. I still remember when there would be this suspense music and at a point where it seemed like something would happen my cousin would let out a blood-curdling scream and nothing would happen. We still tease her about it.

Right now, my top moment is the end of Bridget Jones's Diary. Especially Colin Firth's line. Which I'm not gonna quote here cause he says a dirty word.

WOW.

Dear god, since when can you not use dirty words??

Opening scene of jaws.

When the opening credits start rolling you hear the famous two notes.

Scares me everytime!

I'll mention the obvious one, the airport scene in Casablanca.

When Harry Met Sally - The phone call the next morning "No one I know would call that this hour" It's tricky dialogue when you think about it for the two different conversations to overlap and not look like someone is waiting for a cue...and it's ALL ONE TAKE!

Ferris Bueller- The scene in the museum. The whole musical moment. The artwork. The kids. Cameron staring into Sunday in the Park...brilliant.

Matrix - The moment when they remove Keanu's mouth. UNFORTUNATELY, they give it back...

This is Spinal Tap - This way to the stage...

Princess Bride - Best sword fight ever.*I* am not left handed!

OK...I gotta stop. I could go on forever.

Sooo true!
Jillian Bird · 21 years, 4 months ago

Hedwig and the Angry Inch: "Fuck you, I'm going to Guam!"

Princess Bride: "Marwwwwage...."

Rocky Horror Picture Show: Sweet Transvestite

Labrynth: Magic Dance (mmmm...... Bowie in tight pants...... very disturbing)

Life is Beautiful: The look on his face when the little boy sees the tank coming into the compound. If you don't cry then, you're not human.

"Matrix - The moment when they remove Keanu's mouth. UNFORTUNATELY, they give it back..."

Yeah, but he only has two or three lines after that ;-)

Prince of Egypt. All of it, I can't really choose. As reviewers say, it plays out like one big opera. But if I have to pick a significant moment, I'd pick the parting of the Red Sea.

Sense and Sensibility: The moment at the end when Elinor completely and uncharacteristically loses her composure. Gets me every time.

Kindergarten Cop: "It's nAHt a tumAHr!" Brilliant stuff.

Say Anything: All lines between John Cusack and Jeremy Piven as the drunk party attendee. *JP gives JC a high five* JC: "I wish you hadn't done that with your keys in your hand!" Then later, JC: "You must chill! You must chill! I have taken your keys! Chill!" Totally cracks me up.

Annie Hall: Woody Allen pulls Marshall McLuhan out of thin air and uses him to humiliate the obnoxious dude in front of him in line. So satisfying.

Last Night: Final scene, Pete Seeger is singing "Guantanamera", Don McKellar and Sandra Oh have guns to their heads and the world's about to end, but instead of killing themselves, they kiss.

Big Night: Final scene (heh - I may have just put this in cause I felt cute), Tony Shaloub and Stanley Tucci are in the kitchen, Tony cooks Stanley breakfast and Stanley eats it, one shot, no one says a word but you understand so much in the scene and it's so powerful.

excuse the misquoting, doing this from memory:

"Carol the waitress, meet Simon the fag"

alternately I've got a SNL Mother's day special taped with Chris Katan and Jennifer Lopez where Chris is playing Mango. Anyways, he has to pick a fight with her on the mock-stage of Diva's live and he does so (you have to be watching closely) by reaching out and giving her... uhm... how'd we put it in high school... a purple nerple? It's so spontaneous, just freaking brilliant live comedy... oh wait, that's not a movie moment ;) Then Jack Nicholson all the way.

alternately, there's a scene where Robert DeNiro is doing a review of Jimmy Fallon's review during a Weekend Update sketch. As the scene ends TIna Fey says "For weekend update, I'm Tina Fey" and you see Jimmy Fallon's mouth open for a half second while Robert DeNiro gets in a squeeky "And I'm Jimmy Fallon...". Jimmy Fallon is totally caught unaware, he starts laughing so hard that he breaks the pencil he's holding in his hands and just about falls out of his seat. Just freaking beautiful...

Oh wait, this is best movie moment... right... :)

Casablanca.. was the movie Mandy Moore was in?
ChrisChin is Getting Old · 21 years, 4 months ago

Shawshank Redemption: The whole sequence showing how Andy escaped from prision.

When Harry Met Sally: Lots of moments from here...from the way Sally orders andputs letters in the mailbox to the orgasm scene in Katz's Delicatessen and the older couples expressing how they met...priceless.

Amelie:The whole game play with Nino and Amelie climaxing in their meeting and kiss.

The Princess Bride: The first sword fight, Miracle Max, and that whole scene with Vizzini and his dizzying intellect.

I know there are more for me...perhaps when I havetime to sleep, they will come to me.

That whole movie is just beautiful. See it in widescreen on a nice bright big TV and it's just visually stunning not to mention that there should be more Amelie's in the world.
