Absolutley Fabulous

   Discussion: Absolutley Fabulous
Annika · 21 years, 10 months ago

I'm watching Absolutley fabulous right now. I love this show.

I'm wearing a brown sweater, my second favorite color, green being my first.

I'm a caregiver, I wish I wasn't.

I use to drive a light blue '87 Honda hatchback, but I wrecked it.

I wish people wouldn't wear head bands, I don't like them.

I've lived in 34 different houses 26 since I was 14.

I lived in Wrangell, AK for about 5 months, Seattle, WA (off and on) for 1 year, Kenmore, WA for 3 years, Brier WA for 5 months, Martha's Lake, WA for 2 months, Bothell, WA for 8 months, Olympia, WA for about 3 1/2 months, and the rest of the time I flitted between Hoquiam and Aberdeen, except on school holiday's when I would stay with my grandma and grandad in Guelph.

Why am I telling you this? Because, damn it, I want a pen pal!! I've got stuff to say. I'm sure you have stuff to say too.

I'm assuming I'm not the only person here who would love to correspond to far away fru's by letter, so!!!!! If you want to do a pen pal thing, post your name, interests, whatever here and then if you're interesting enough or find someone you find interesting start frumming! Get addy's and write! It'll be fun!!

Or don't, and I'll just go curl up in a ball in the closet and cry, because no one else is interested in something that I'm eager to do. :^D

*pout* I used to be a letter writing fiend, but alass lately I've had to cut down on that because I'm too freaking poor to buy stamps... when you're scrounging for money and have been known to put 50 cents worth of gass in your car you really shouldn't splurg on stamps... *wilt*

Yeah!

"18th century clockwork horse toy -- $2500"

"You can tell by the way the wood grain runs counter to the shelving unit that this was made by the M. Foster company of London, England. Notice the signature here on the underside of the desk"

"Oh, it was my grandmother's. We've just been using it as an ashtray"

I love when they bring in their cherished antique snot-catcher or whatever and it is a repo that is worth diddly squat. Or better yet a piece of furnature they refinished to make look better, while simultaneously ruining the value. (Any AR junky worth their salt knows that original finish is key). Call me cruel. I also like when the people on Trading Spaces hate their rooms.

I love antiques road show!! I'm such a loser!  Oh! Have you seen "A walk in your shoes"? Great show as well! Not anything like antiques road show btw.

oooh, we have this super-cool show called 'bargain hunt' where two teams go to an antiques sale and they have to buy items they think will make more money at auction. then they sell them at auction and whichever team makes the most profit wins. though usually they don't make a profit, they lose shitloads of money and it's hilarious. 'oh, i really thought that crappy broken-in-half guitar with no strings, no name and huge chips in the wood that we bought for 150 was going to make a profit. the guy assured us he was giving us a good price for it'. yeah, whatever mate. :D

I love that show!
They show it on one of the cable stations over here.
Now that my dad's retired, when I'm home on break we sit around and watch all of those antique shows.

The host on there reminds me of Jaymze Bee too.

I used to watch Antiques Road Show with my grandma, and we'd just laugh and laugh-- it's great theater (watch people lugging dusty old crap around; watch their faces when they're told it's dusty old crap). I like watching people play -- rather gingerly -- with old toys. Also the fact that there are twin brothers who are furniture appraisers, and I really like the Delft tile woman.

I loved Freaks and geeks when it was on.

I write poems, or try to.

I work for my local daily paper and read a lot of depressing and maddening news. Every night on my way home from work, I stop at the Peace Camp and decompress.

I am for some reason instantly calmer when there is a dictionary sitting on my lap.
