Ok.. as I'm probably one of two (three?) active Quebecois fruheads, I feel concerned :D .. (the use of "we" is in general, not necessarily myself)
As far as I'm concerned, it's a great idea. If you want me to call that member, lemme know, and I'll give him a piece of mind :D
But seriously. Every Quebecois knows the anthem. We're not all radical separatists, and there aren't that many, acctually. We don't hate the rest of Canada. We're a little weary of it, because we got shit from them for a long time, in the past. It's almost all because of the language, I think. Canada is NOT a bilingual country, never was, probably never will be. The only really bilingual city in the country that works, is Montreal. Anywhere else, both English and French are not co-existant without any trouble.
We've always been ignorant, sheep-like followers, too. Never had the guts to really stand up for what we think we want. My generation is waking up and trying to change things.
A lot of people still believe in the American Dream. We don't hate the States. We don't hate England. Most people are mostly indifferent to both, or have very little opinions about either. I'm not taking the present events into consideration, and I'm not going to. When the world is peacefull, Quebecois people like the states a whole lot. Some of the seperatists even want to become another state.
I'm not sure about England, but I know we don't hate it.
I'm not a seperatist. I don't know exactly what they think. But Quebec's seperation is very unlikely. We can't survive on our own, and most of us realize it.
So yeah. Go for it. I think it's a wonderful idea :D
