Decorating your car

This goes along with the room poll. What have you done to decorate your car? Any Fruvous paraphanalia?
My car now has a WFUV bumpersticker and a window decal. I'm going to finally be adding my DVN, Steven Kellogg, and Carbon Leaf stickers. I'll have to remember to pick up Mike Errico's next time I see him. The pisco sticker makes for a great bumper decoration. :) Once I owned an old beater car that I wanted to paint with fishes. Dr seuss style fishes, pretty fishes, maybe even a dolphin. But that never happened. I'm very choosy when it comes to decorating my Joxur, but so far he has attached to his anntena a tassle made of red curly ribbon; on the bumper there is a sticker that reads "my karma ran over your dogma" as well as the pisco sticker. The rear window has a "member" decal from the Vancouver Aquarium, and I plan on adding an SCA sticker soon as well. INSIDE, there is a small figure of batgirl that dangles from the rear-view mirror, and hanging underneath the courtesy light I have a little plush Catbus (from My Neighbour Totoro) toy.
Other than my old FRUVOUS license plate, Cedric's only Fruvous tie now is his name and his maple leaf sticker that MC put on him. :)
hey! mikes stickers don't work to well on cars belive me i put one on and it came off after a few months...ummmm and Thursday, March 6 - MERCURY LOUNGE REQUEST NIGHT
that car has also changed my life... i would repeat his feat, except my car is now near death. how near? all things are removed from it except the piscofish sticker which won't come off. i was thinking of taking the image (which is still my desktop) & going to kinkos to print more out (no, i don't have a printer).

my poor car. all the stickers on the outside have worn off. i used to have buffy and dvn stickers, and now they are no more. from now on i'm going to stick to window decals, or my parents' old trick of taping the bumper stickers to the insides of the car windows. i have decals for wfuv, wxpn, and wxrt -- and mst3k, of all things. i also have shiny shiny beads on the rear view mirror. pretty boring.

I have found that bumper stickers depreciate the value of a car. The only sticker I have is the car dealer where I got my car, and a Steelers license plate frame. The only real decoration is a baby seal stuffed animal that Stacey gave to me last year at Falcon Ridge, which now sits in the back of my car looking out the rear view window.
I don't think they actually depreciate the value, but they don't make a good impression if you're trying to sell the car or trade it in.
the first thing I did when I bought my car was to remove the license plate frames and the sticker indicating where I bought it. I don't want my car to be an ugly advertisement for a car dealer. I had a whole lot of bumper stickers for a while, but I removed them because most of the bands I like don't offer stickers, so I couldn't fill up the whole bumper. it was very lopsided. and living in Virginia, I can't really put the political bumper stickers I want on my car. I do have a Darwin fish, though - that goes nicely with the car's trim, as opposed to a colourful bumper sticker, which doesn't.
You forgot something, your licence plate, it's named for some band right? Frugous or something like that?
I agree with you on the Colourful Bumper Sticker belief. While I laugh at many bumper sticker sayings, I won't add them to the bumper. I like my nice and simple non-clashing effect from the current black & white stickers. I mean, the pisco is white on a black background. SO, on my black bumper all you see is the fish outline and, towards the right, the "my karma ran over your dogma" one. It's amusing when I'm stopped at a red light and I look back in the rear view mirror to see the people behind me obviously reading that bumper sticker and laughing. :)

At one time, I had a Ford Festiva. It was red, and it looked like a roller skate on wheels. Yeah, I know ...but at 50mpg, who cares?!
Anyway, once when I went fru-tripping, we put a color copy of each Fruvous album all over it (along with the other random items that decorated my car at the time) and above them, we added a sign that said: WE'RE WITH THE KING OF SPAIN: MOXY FRUVOUS OR BUST.Ah... the good ol' days!
While going to a BNL show a few years ago, my friend had the great idea of painting, with childern's paint, 'Barenaked' across the hood of my car, and this was accompanied by a painting of a giant naked butt (my friend was an artist). I was planning on washing it off the next day, but ended up getting REALLY drunk at the show and somehow breaking my foot. I couldn't wash my car for a week, and when I did the children's paint completely ate away the paint on my car. So for years I drove around with 'Barenaked' and a giant butt on the hood of my car.
We've painted both the car and the van with fruvous-centred slogans. it's all pixel's fault -- he started us off at FRFF 1999.
As far as permanent decor goes, the minivan is a rolling testament to radical-hippie-freakness, which goes over really well when steve uses it for work or Scout camping trips. I still have plenty of washable paint if anyone wants to help me paint her again. ;) Stickers are not a concern for the resale value of either of our vehicles because face it, when they're 10 years old and 15 years old there's not much of an impression to make. But when we get a new vehicle I'll hang stickers in the windows with clear plastic sleeves w/suction cups.
bring paint to frff. i wanna play. :)
and you do have the coolest car ever. amen.

i went for silk inside my car- I have silk ivy on my rear view mirror and across the deck in the back window. I get a lot of wierd looks... plus I have 2 Mac stickers in my back window, an american flag and a think different licence plate frame... I wish I had a pisco sticker.. that would fit perfectly (plus I have a bubble head guy for those who know old VW history)

from left to right...the ever famous "pisco" sticker, a nields sticker, "Do not meddle with the affairs of dragons, for you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup"...one of my favouite sayings ;-), an Euro GB sticker and a Canada sticker....oh yes and a golden snitch antenne thing.... i remember a few years back there was talk on the NG about making fruvous bumper stickers...my fav idea was always the "I break for Budgie Dogs" one You must first create an account to post.
