So sad and pathetic am I! I live online! (But I count time spent at work)

But does it count if you are getting paid to do something else? Alas, if I didn't have as much of a life as I have, I would live online. Reality keeps getting in the way.

So if you spend 2 hours an 50 minutes online a day, that's only being online a bit?

totally.

i don't spend over twenty hours online a week but i do spend way too much time online. to the detriment of my schoolwork, verily. like now.

it should really be "how much time outside of work," since those of us who work at computers spend 40+ hours online every week, making it a rather meaningless measure of our nerdiness.

I usually spend 2-4 hours a day at home online, too, so my usage is definitely up there.

word. i do most of my online playing at work, especially during our "off-season," which is right about now.

This time of year, I live online.

During my work season, though, I usually don't have access to the internet for half the week. Kind of cuts down on my online time - plus I'm out of the house doing more in the summer, too.

Seeing as how my job is being online, I'm sure I'm over 40 hours. I'd hate to think how much, actually.

I have no life, except for the one I have with my computer and the online world. It helps that I have a speedy DSL connection. The first thing I do in the morning is turn on my computer and the last thing I do before I go to bed usually is to turn it off.
Andrea Krause Back · 21 years, 1 month ago
Heee. I don't even turn it off. :)

the computer is in my bedroom and I typically have a difficult time falling alseep if there's constant noise...even the low level hum of the computer fan can keep me up for awhile. Hence I turn it off most nights. But when I was in college, my computer was in a separate room and I rarely turned it off. Typically, the circuit breaker would trip (given that 3 other computers were on the same breaker) and turn it off for me. :)

See, I'm the exact opposite.

I can't sleep UNLESS there's a background noise of some kind... and computer case fans work just fine. :) I think it comes from growing up in a house with forced air heat/ac.... my parents would always set the fan to "on" instead of "auto" at night because THEY can't sleep without background noise either.

Currently, I have 3 computers running 24/7 within 4 feet of my bed. heh.

I dunno... contradancing with 200 sweaty New Yorkers sure seemed real-life to me...
George E. Nowik · 21 years, 1 month ago
in the pathetic category at the moment. this will likely change when i start the new job, and will eventually level off to however much time i'm spending doing school work ...
