Sad sad sad

I wish Fruvous would get back together soon, there are so few groups like them... I'm guessing that as I've never heard one. After work driving down I-5 I'd pop in Live noise or Bargainville in my crappy doesn't play anymore stereo, and you know, Moxy Fruvous is the type of group that when you're driving on the free-way, you slow down to reduce the road noise so you can hear it on your crappy car speakers. It's worth it to piss off the yuppies in their Saturns trying to get to Starbucks before it closes for the night, very worth it!

By the way, I don't dislike Saturn as a company, I'm just jealous of everyone who's got one. Not that my '87 civic hatchback wagon isn't wonderful! Nothing like being able to pack a cabinet and a few small amps and the smaller half of your friends drum set in the back of your car!

i wish i had my own car, so then i could drive through totally rough areas like chalvey and britwell and that, with 'i love my boss' and 'jenny washington' cranked up to the max while the pikey kids outside chuck stones at my back windscreen. rock on. :D

well, it would beat trying to (unsuccessfully) bribe my dad into playing fruvous in his car :P

Yuppies in Saturns? Isn't Saturn an economy car company? :)

I have Wood in my van right now. Even if you're dirt poor it is soooooooo worth it to go into debt for a good tape/CD player and speakers. No matter what you drive, you can always have good music! ahhh!
Rod loves singing along with me to Get in the car, cuz it's a great driving song! I wish that it was a longer song, since it feels like it's over so fast! :)

I know it's hard to wait for the mighty return of Fruvous, but there's nothing much we can do. We beg, we plead, and they hear our cries, but it has to be in their time, not ours, dear friends.
Hope is future based.

"Get in the Car" is the favorite song of a good dog-friend of mine. She starts jumping up and down and wagging her tail, running to the front door, etc.

Wow, I had no idea that they weren't together, but that's not surprising since here in Texas I have never met anybody so fortunate as to have heard of Moxy Fruvous. They are a great band, really I guess BNL or They Might Be Giants are the closest groups to Fruvous that I have ever heard. Also there is a band out of San Diego called Brown and Sinkiewicz, You might want to check them out, although they probably more resemble BNL than Fruvous. But wow, that kinda makes me sad too to hear that they aren't together for now....

Well, we're glad you found your way here anyway - Fruvous may be on hiatus, but the online Fruhead community is still around!

A lot of us have been going to shows by DaVinci's Notebook and Eddie From Ohio in the meantime.

Welcome to FHDC!

And we will STILL be seeing DVN & EFO if and when Fruvous plays again!

In many ways, the absense of Fruvous has made the Fruhead community smaller, but tighter. Since we don't have Frushows to get together at, we have to find other ways, and the people who want to keep those bonds strong find ways.

Also, other than Frucon, the biggest gathering of Fruheads would have to be at the Falcon Ridge Folk Festival, which occurs in late July. Check it out at www.falconridgefolk.com

of course you're lucky if any of those bands comes to Texas... I lived in Texas and it was a complete vacuum... nobody toured there at the time... lived there for a whole year and saw Jackopierce (who didn't count cause they were local), Wilco once, the Honeydogs once, and Ben Folds 5 three times (I'm forever in their debt for playing in Dallas so much)... only those shows in one year-- in Chicago I go to like 6-10 shows a month!

Well thanks for the welcome. Yeah, no kidding...nobody tours in Texas, well, nobody that I listen to, aside from BNL, and they only go to Austin, which is a coupla hours away. Here, we only get rap, hard rock, and country...lol, oh yeah, Barry Manilow was here over the summer. I can never get the time to go to BNL's shows anyway, so it doesn't really matter, but I wish more good groups did tour here.

Weird, I don't even remember posting this. *sigh* I miss my Honda. And!!! Barry Manilow can't be all that bad, as he does rock panties off! I'm trying to like him, I'm also trying to like country. So.. yes.. it's not going well.
