Brothers Creeggan Free CDs

   Discussion: Brothers Creeggan Free CDs

For those who like free stuff, the Brothers Creeggan (Andy and Jim from the original BNL lineup) are running a really cool promotion on their website - if you email them, they will send you full versions of their cds for free, no strings attached. Well, me thinks that's pretty darn cool. I hope maybe some other Fruvous fans will enjoy it - you can't argue with the price!

Mini reviews of the albums:

Self titled (aka I)- a good lite-jazzy-boppy-pop first effort with one of my favorite BC tunes (The Question is), a reworked BNL tune (Little Tiny Song), and a song BNL used to play back in the day (Scared Song). Also features Dave from fruvous, and Alanis Morisette too!

II - a little goofier than the first, II has a bunch of ultra-catchy-ultra-frantic jazzy tunes that are a blast. A little short and my least favorite BC, but Why won't they Bite, Me Gusta, and Cows Chickens and Pigs are all great tunes.

Trunks - more laid back and more folky than jazzy compared tothe first two, this is less about goofy and more about very pretty + witty songs. Well, until the last three tracks when it gets into some pretty silly fun. The first half of the album is just pure easy listening ear candy, so this is probably my favorite.

Sleepyhead - even more laid back, it opens with two of the prettiest tunes ever, and contains my favorite song about a vegetarian restaraunt. This one took the longest for me to get into as generally it was much more mellow then I usually prefer, but itgrew on meand is at least my second favorite now.

The Brothers will likely be touring later this year, so I hope to see some of you there! Maybe we could get Ford to open for them...

ps to Jason R and the other Bit Torrenters - as a devoted lurker, you guys rock! I really needed some live Fruvous and you hooked me up nicely in my hour of need - I am in your debt :)
