I'm a social worker for the eldery and their informal caregivers and proud of it! I went into the field because of its high pay, easy people to work with, and greatrespect the field receives from society as a whole. And, no, I don't have any delusions at all. :) *twitch*

For the current quarter I'm considered a part time student, part time worker.

Normally I'm a full time student, part time worker. Represent.

The place I worked was closed down on 9/5, so I've been out in the scary unemployed world since then.
It ain't so bad.... yet....

I'm full time, but always flirting with unemployed.
Right now, my job is pretty much the same job pnumatic tubes were once used for (running the mail and faxes around a law firm). I also make coffee and run a coppier and all sorts of exciting stuff like that.

Before last week, I was unemployed for a week.

Before that, I was working in the files and doing data entry at the Columbus Metro Housing Authority (low income housing).

And before all that, I was a full time student, working about 10hrs a week in a computer lab. So basically, I was getting paid for my FHDC time ;-) I wish I could still calim that...

I work at a big company doing software engineering and database design/administration. Earlier in life my plans were somewhat different. But I'm really happy what I'm doing now.

I work full-time. I'm working as a typist and proofer for a company that makes calendars for schools, churches, community organizations, and suchin small communities. The job lasts from October until mid-December, as that is the company's busy season. I'm really enjoying it, though.

I'm a code monkey for a small internet company in Toledo, OH. I program in ASP (if you can call that programming) doing web development and database interaction type stuff. I graduated from school in December 2001. @whee! :)
Phoenix Back · 20 years, 9 months ago

hehe. At least there are 2 software people over here. Nah, ASP is programming without any doubt:)

I eat chocolate, breathe polluted air, drink hot caffeinated beverages, nap a lot, wear comfy clothes, live in a cluttered house with cats and boys, write stirring treatises on a wide variety of subjects, correspond withmy elected and appointed representatives, plot peace and justice, get way too much spam, move around many many many pieces of paper, organize and execute periodic celebrations, and listen to music.

Oh. You meant, like, for an "occupation"? Ihaven't held one of those for a long long time.

I work for a big soulless insurance company as a QA Technician or whatever my title is. I test changes the code monkeys make in the claim system. I make sure that we don't release bad code to the live system and make all your claims pay wrong or not pay at all. :)

Until this summer I was a business analyst at the same company. (The step BEFORE the code monkeys) but it was driving me to an early grave and I'm much happier in the job I do now.

That's me - granted as far as retail goes, running a music store is not too bad but it's still retail.
